Meet Our Teachers

Ashley Sharp

Ashley Sharp is known for her wit, practicality, and tenderness as an instructor. She has studied yoga, meditation and Buddha-dharma in the United States, India and Myanmar. She has trained specifically in insight meditation, yoga asana, yoga therapy and yoga nidra (a reclining meditation practice). Ashley's ongoing practice of Vipassana meditation leads naturally to her unique weaving of mindfulness into each yoga class, which simultaneously deepens her students' physical and spiritual practice. She founded Insight Richmond, a community based meditation group. In addition to completing the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioner Program, and the Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leader training, she has sat in silent meditation for nearly a full year. She teaches retreats internationally and leads yoga teacher trainings in the Bay Area.

Lori Lindgren

A yoga professional since 2002 with a diverse variety of experiences in healing and strengthening for healthy aging & athletes, medical & office professionals, kids & survivors of trauma. Lori provides classes, workshops, retreats, and private sessions. She integrates natural systems thinking, personal training, mindfulness and sustainability while continuing to deepen her education in yoga therapeutics and wellness for whole-life, whole community solutions. Through Growing World Wellness, she connects yoga, wellness providers, urban, university and corporate communities to the healing of Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) and the staff who work with them, a SELF CARE REVOLUTION is in development!

Margi Young

Margi’s classes emphasize correct alignment, awareness of breath and intense relaxation so that the benefits of yoga reveal themselves. She roots her alignment-based vinyasa classes both in Buddhist philosophy and in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to invite the physical practice to result in a calm mental state. She offers personal attention, both verbal and hands-on, to help her students clarify and deepen their practice. Taking a cue from the Buddha, Margi’s classes are light-hearted; it is imperative that we come together and study this vast subject with joy.

Anastasia Sofos

Anastasia is certified by IYNAUS as a Intermediate Junior I teacher of Iyengar Yoga. Practicing since 2000, teaching since 2005, she completed the 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training at Iyengar Institute SF and has studied in Pune, India with the Iyengar family. As a Bay Area native, she welcomes all lifestyles to her classes, taught with discipline, humor and love.

Nina Gold

Nina Gold was first introduced to yoga as an acting student in New York in the late 1980's. The practice was used as a way to collect and center oneself for performance. She began a more serious inquiry into yoga itself in 1992 after she returned to her native San Francisco and has been teaching yoga since 1998. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and Certified Yoga Therapist.

Her path of yoga naturally evolved and led her to an in depth study and practice of Insight mediation. Her classes are strongly informed by this. She has been a student of Eugene Cash since 2007 and is actively involved with SF Insight. She is a graduate of the 2 year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

In her classes she encourages an atmosphere of warmth, humor and shared humanity.

She can be contacted through her website ninagoldyoga.com
